What is the Porto Card?

The Porto Card is the official tourist card of the city of Porto, which gives visitors free or discounted entry to over 150 museums and sights as well as free travel on public transport.

The Porto Card includes the Andante Tour Card, which allows unlimited travel on the metro, city buses, private bus lines and local trains in Porto and the surrounding area. The following means of transportation are included:

City buses (STCP)
Metro incl. line E from the airport to the city center
Private bus lines
CP urban trains between Espinho, Valongo and Travagem

Historic streetcars are not included in the Porto Card and require separate tickets. Cable cars and funiculars are also not included (although the Porto Card does offer a small discount).

The Andante Tour ticket must be validated every time you travel, even when changing trains. To do this, hold it up to the yellow ticket validators, a green light signal confirms successful validation.

How to make optimum use of the Porto Card

Visit museums that are free with the Porto Card and attractions that are heavily discounted.
Use public transport regularly to explore the city! You can also take the Porto Card from the airport to the city.
Visit sights and museums that don't take up much time. The more time you have available, the more attractions you can visit.
Take advantage of expensive services such as the hop-on hop-off bus, boat tours on the Duoro and city tours.
Take note of the closing days of some attractions and museums and plan your visit accordingly.

The Porto Card in four steps

1) Buy Porto Card

The Porto Card can be purchased online and collected from the tourist offices at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport and in Sé do Porto. When purchasing online, select the date on which you would like to collect the card.

2) Download online voucher

Print out the online voucher or save it on your phone and take it with you to Porto.

3) Pick up Porto Card

Pick up your Porto Card at one of two pick-up points. If you are traveling by plane, you can pick up your Porto Card directly at the airport.

When you pick up your ticket, you will receive a small travel guide for Porto with information on all participating attractions and museums.

4) Activate the Porto Card

The Porto Card is activated the first time it is used. The included Andante Tour Card for public transport can be activated independently of the Porto Card.
